French PM: Secure All Schools, Religious Buildings

TOULOUSE, France (AP) — France’s prime minister says he has asked for all schools and religious buildings to be secured in the wake of a deadly shooting at a Jewish school in the southwest.

Prime Minister Francois Fillon said Monday the entire nation was the target of the shooting, which follows two others nearby.

The statement from his office widens the reach of security measures. Authorities had previously said security would be stepped up at Jewish schools across the country.

Just before classes started Monday, a gunman killed a father, his two sons and one other child outside the school in Toulouse.
