This morning on Facebook I came across a status update from my friend, Marta. Her husband, Michael Correll also known as Freak Phil on Youtube and Santa Cruz Pirate Radio, is the owner of The Sacred Grove Pagan and metaphysical shop in Santa Cruz, California. At about 4 pm on March 15, a black SUV pulled up to the store front. A man got out and swiped their pentacle sign. A store volunteer wrote down the Oregon plates and called... Read more

Anyone can garden, indoors or out, by thoughtfully choosing their level of commitment and accessibility. Gardening can be as simple as herbs and bean sprouts on a window sill to the complex planning and creation of large pathways between raised beds. It is possible to have a garden in urban areas by transforming lawns, using window space, or patio space economically. Growing plants with others gives you extra sets of hands to help with the work, increases mind power by... Read more

The Principle of Attraction Everything we think, say, and do involves the exchange of magickal energy, and likewise, everything that we experience or observe has an affect on us on a magickal level – often completely unnoticed – and every exchange of energy is creative in that it always causes a change in some way, even if this is only on the level of... Read more

Qwiki www.qwiki.com I stumbled upon Qwiki the speaking Wikipedia. You type in a topic and hit “Play”. So I typed in “Paganism” and a fairly pleasant female voice spoke about the topic. The small screen included scrolling text and a collage of images that zoomed in and out. Unfortunately, the computer generate voice pronounces Paganism as PIGanism and NeoPaganims as NOW PIGanism. The “Improve This Qwiki” is easy to use and I suggested changes under the “improve sound quality”. The... Read more

There are around a million Pagans in the US and only a handful of Pagans who have experience or training for counseling in hospitals or hospice. As a person with chronic health issues, I’ve been to the emergency room many times. I’m grateful that only once I had to be admitted overnight and that turned out to be a week long stay in a stress unit. While I struggled with my inner turmoil, surrounded by free bibles and unable to... Read more

Professional Folklorist Calls for Interviews with Polytheists about Faith By now you’ve noticed I like to promote research within the Pagan community. Any chance we have to learn more about our theology/theaology, practices, customs, or views is an important one. These opportunities show us how much we have in common and we can learn new ideas from those who speak up and share their diversity. Wendi Wilkerson is a Pagan polytheist and folklorist. This December she earned a Ph.D. from... Read more
