The totality of who we are defines us and it is in every piece and parcel that we come to realize the great truth that is: I. The pieces of previous choices and previous moments in history bite into our skin, paper thin, like the shards of broken mirror that they are. These slights against our outer most layer, our skin, anger us—even offend us into great fits of denial and rage. We reject the audacity of the past to catch up to us and wreak its vengeance in such an underwhelming way. Our perception of Divinity is the slow undertow that ignored in our arrogance at ‘having all the facts’, will surely cause us to drown.

What do you see when you see your Gods? Are they always thus?
No, they are not.
We are not the Greater God Parents that bore our own Goddesses, Gods, Spirits, into this world. We did not Breathe Life into all things and from our own Self, Created Gods of Love, Gods of Fear, Gods of Peace, and so many more. On this fact alone it should give us, the much younger siblings of the Gods, the pause required to remember one simple fact: We are not Them.
Those same Goddesses and Gods that hold you in rapt silence, raucous revelry, and breaking frustration bend and weave through time immemorial. They are who They are and do not require, nor need you to put them in Their place. By their very Divinity they move with the will of lightning snapped upon the plains, forever changing it’s landscape. These movers and shakers move to their own song, and choose where they go with each beat. Even if it shocks us to our core to see our Divine Cousin shake and shimmy, drawing every eye and moaned sigh at their fluidity.
We are not so different from our Divine Family. Some of us bend and some of us stand strong among the crowd, some of us do nothing but point and deplore what’s before their eyes. If we are not to press our views upon our Gods then what is it we worship and see? We then have to question–who or what is it that we bow or turn our heads up before. The answer is as simple as it seems, They were who they were before, They are who they are now, and They are who they will to be. Place not, yourself upon your Gods, but let them share a bit of Them with your self.
In allowing ourselves to be shared with, we allow ourselves to heal those paper cuts and put those shards of past perception in the bin, never to slice us anymore. Letting your Gods surprise you with Truth that balm that cannot be explained away in psychology. That Androgynous Divine beyond just the bare semantics of sexuality now can reach forth and heal what you hide from yourself: Your Gods, just like you, are more than you think.
