The Telegraph reports that Eva Green, who plays Morgan on Camelot, has been reading up on magic and Paganism: “Real magic is everywhere,” says the 30-year-old actress. “It’s in the winds and the sun and the moon; the earth and the trees.” “People are not connected to nature any more. My character in the series is trying to restore the pagan ways.” The Casino Royale beauty tells Mandrake at the launch of the book 46664 Bangle Legacy at Montblanc in... Read more

Llewellyn has 58k Facebook fans, The Witch’s Voice 27k and Witch School has 9,800 fans, yet the campaign to get Jason Pitzl-Waters on The Daily Show to speak about David Barton’s attempts to deny our religious rights and the other challenges minority religions face has garnered a far fewer number of fans than you might expect. What makes me sad about this is it proves Jon Stewart right. “Dude, Pagans don’t have an agenda. They’re Pagans. Organizational skills, eh, not... Read more

Over $32,000 was raised by the Pagan community for Doctors Without Borders relief efforts in Japan and donations are still trickling in. That’s amazing. It’s proof-positive that despite our differences, Pagans can work together to create positive change in the world. Which is why I have no doubt that we can accomplish another worthwhile goal: getting Jason Pitzl-Waters of The Wild Hunt on The Daily Show to provide a different perspective on David Barton and the challenges facing minority religions... Read more

Some days, anger overwhelms me. Some days it is hard to look at my wonderful friends and neighbors and remember that not all Christians are hateful. Instead, some days all I can focus on is the hateful, to watch them with a wary eye full of distress. When the Washington Times thinks it’s appropriate to publish a column stating the Air Force Academy is “pandering” to my “fringe” religion, despite the fact that Pagans have fought and died for this... Read more

Nor does She demand sacrifice, for behold, She is the mother of all living, and Her love is poured out upon the earth. The Goddess of Wicca is an enigma. Her Law is Love, and that is a fierce and difficult thing. If there is one form of energy both most difficult to master, and most worth mastering, it is Love. I don’t know about you, but for me that’s a hard lesson to learn. It’s easier to find the... Read more

As today is Dianetics Day I figure it’s time to pick up this series again. Along with the Buddhists and Hindus, Scientology is one religion I still need to tick off my list for the series. This is going to be incredibly difficult because I honestly have very little love for Scientology or L. Ron Hubbard. Bear with me and please forgive if the occasional snark slips out. 13. Reincarnation Ok, so my personal belief in reincarnation doesn’t involve distant... Read more

I was going to share a story about one of my female ancestors today and encourage you to do the same. However, I’ve got a lot going on today, so I’m going to leave you with this prayer, and a wish that all Mothers and the women and men who support them find blessing on this day! Hymn to the All-Mother HAIL to our Mother who makes the yellow flowers to bloom–who scatters the seeds of the maguey as she... Read more

Mother’s Day is tomorrow in the US. I’m an aunt, not a mother, although I have reached the age where the biological clock is ticking and I have to decide what that means to me. Having nieces and nephews gives you a sort of strange perspective on motherhood. You are close enough to see the challenges of being a mother and far enough away to analyze and think of how you would do things differently. While my nieces and nephews... Read more

Thor is epic. It’s not true to the lore but it’s a good film. There are no spoilers in this review (from my POV). Disappointments? Sure. Rene Russo was less than epic as Frigga. She wasn’t bad, but she didn’t strike me as regal and commanding enough for the role. Looking the part simply isn’t enough. I felt there was too much effort spent trying to bridge (pardon the pun) science and magic. You don’t have to rubber ducky* everything.... Read more

I should wax poetic about motherhood but I’m off to see Thor right now. Review later this afternoon. In the meantime enjoy these trailers of upcoming movies that looking interesting to Pagans. Thor The Wicker Tree NSFW Pirates of the Carribean 4 (for the Pastafarians) I’ll be back to wax eloquent on both mothers and Mjolnir shortly. Read more
