Daily Challenges for Eucharistic Revival and Marian Devotion

The Church has long honored May as the month of Mary—a season set apart for deepening our devotion to the Mother of God. Saints like Louis de Montfort and Maximilian Kolbe remind us that Marian consecration is not a side devotion, but the most direct and complete path to holiness.

To entrust ourselves to Mary is to enroll in her spiritual school. She doesn’t distract from Christ—she magnifies Him. In her company, Jesus is no longer merely part of our lives; He becomes our life.

The Immaculata helps us to see with her eyes and love with her heart. And no heart has ever loved Jesus more completely.

That’s why this May, I’m inviting you to join a Daily Adoration Challenge: visit Jesus in the tabernacle each day—with Mary. Whether it’s a full Holy Hour or just a few minutes of quiet presence, the key is consistency and intention. Let each visit be a fiat—a Marian “yes” to love, recollection, and union.

And if you don’t have access to a nearby chapel, don’t lose heart. Eucharistic adoration livestreams are available 24/7 from chapels across the globe. While physical presence is ideal, grace is not confined to geography. When approached with faith, even digital adoration can become a sacred meeting place.

St. Maximilian Kolbe understood this well. Amid the constant demands of his apostolic work, he never let go of frequent visits to the Blessed Sacrament—even if only for a moment. His witness reminds us that Eucharistic adoration is not confined to a place or a schedule—it becomes a disposition, a fire that spreads into every part of life.

Adoration extends beyond the walls of the chapel and into how we serve, love, and speak.

Even a single decade of the Rosary before the tabernacle, offered with attention and love, can begin to transform your heart. In time, it reshapes your posture to mirror that of Mary—pondering Christ deeply, interceding for others, and carrying Him into every corner of your day.

With Mary, we are not passive observers of the Gospel—we are drawn into its living mystery. We follow Jesus to the cross… and onward, into resurrection.

Day 1 of the May Adoration Challenge

Before work, I stopped into the quiet little chapel near my home. Just before entering, I encountered a woman named Ming who, without knowing it, handed me what I now see as the watchword not only for this month—but perhaps for my whole life: united surrender.

This phrase captures the very heart of Marian spirituality. When we unite our hearts to Mary’s, we learn to echo her words with sincerity and faith: “Be it done unto me according to your will.”

Her Magnificat becomes a lens through which our lives begin to reflect trust, praise, and humility. There can be no authentic love without trust—and Mary’s trust in God was total.

Since opening a small shop in a neighborhood rich in spiritual diversity, I’ve noticed something intriguing: a noticeable resurgence of Marian imagery. The Blessed Mother is everywhere—on clothing, in art, and in devotional accessories like rosaries. But often, she is presented more as a mystical archetype than as the living Mother of God.

Many seekers revere her beauty and strength, yet treat her as a cosmic force to invoke rather than the Theotokos, the God-bearer. Some attempt to weave her into syncretic or even occult practices, speaking of “channeling” her.

Yet the true Mary cannot be separated from Jesus. She exists only in relation to Him—and her mission is always to bring us closer to His Heart. In her tenderness, she may meet souls in the fog of confusion and gently lead them home. But the deeper truth remains: Mary always leads to Jesus.

To be truly united with Mary is to be united with Christ, for apart from Him, we can do nothing. To desire Mary is to desire Christ.

As we begin this monthlong Eucharistic journey, I’ll be offering simple, daily invitations to grow closer to Christ through the Heart of Mary. Today’s challenge is this:

Carry a pocket icon or prayer card.
When you feel the impulse to scroll, spend, or react—pause. Instead of reaching outward, reach inward. Reach for the sacred. Let that small item reorient you. Recollect yourself in God.
