Pakistani Mother Faces Death Penalty for her Faith

Pakistani Mother Faces Death Penalty for her Faith November 7, 2016

My eyes were opened by a blog post in the Scientology Religion website on Asia Bibi, a Pakistani Christian mother of five convicted of blasphemy in 2010, imprisoned and sentenced to hang.

Her crime was defending her right as a Christian to drink from the same cup that others use at the village well. Accused of blasphemy for doing so, she was arrested and has been held on death row for the past 10 years. Her case is with the Supreme Court, the final authority and the last chance to have her sentence cancelled or commuted.

When others took action to defend her, they too were targeted.

“Salmaan Taseer, governor of Punjab province where Bibi was arrested, and Pakistan Minority Affairs Minister Shahbaz Bhatti were both assassinated after expressing public support for Bibi.”
