A LIFETIME OF CHRISTMASES HAS DEEPENED ONE SCIENTOLOGIST’S HOPE

A LIFETIME OF CHRISTMASES HAS DEEPENED ONE SCIENTOLOGIST’S HOPE December 18, 2016

In an article on World Religion News, Scientologist David Aden says:

“Although the meaning of Christmas has changed for me over the years, in some ways my understanding of it has deepened. It is infused with hope and the promise of a better life and I understand now, better than ever, that such hope and promise are at the core of religious faith and practice.

“I have come to see that all of us, whether Scientologist or Christian, Muslim, Buddhist or Jew, are bound by our shared spirituality. And that all of us yearn for hope, for the promise of a better life and for a world truly at peace.”

That reminded me of a prayer that we join in at the end of the Scientology Sunday service. It is called A Prayer for Total Freedom and I though I’d share it here. I feel it is particularly appropriate for the holiday season:

May the author of the universe enable all men to reach an understanding of their spiritual nature.

May awareness and understanding of life expand, so that all may come to know the author of the universe.

And may others also reach this understanding which brings Total Freedom.

At this time, we think of those whose liberty is threatened; of those who have suffered imprisonment for their beliefs; of those who are enslaved or martyred, and for all those who are brutalized, trapped or attacked.

We pray that human rights will be preserved so that all people may believe and worship freely, so that freedom will once again be seen in our land.

Freedom from war, and poverty, and want; freedom to be; freedom to do and freedom to have.

Freedom to use and understand Man’s potential—a potential that is God-given and Godlike.

And freedom to achieve that understanding and awareness that is Total Freedom.

May God let it be so.
