David Miscavige Sets the Standard for Scientology

Diane Stein is a Scientologist and a human rights activist who lives and works in Clearwater, Florida,  the city that is home to the spiritual headquarters of the Scientology religion. In her interview, she emphasizes that although David Miscavige is the leader of the Scientology religion, he is completely approachable.

Running into David Miscavige at the Scientology headquarters in Florida

I’m walking down a hallway.  And somebody comes up behind me and begins to engage me in a conversation. So I turn around and it’s Mr. Miscavige. And I’m completely blown away. Because number one, he knew my name. Like, how did he know my name? Of all the names of all the people he meets, how would he know my name? He knew about projects that I was working on. And what I was doing. He also knew how well some of the projects were going.  And he was very complimentary.

David Miscavige is so sincere

But here’s what struck me most as I’m standing there in a hallway talking to him. It was as though I was the only person that existed at that moment in time. When he was talking to me, he was completely there. He was completely sincere. His communication was so personal. And I realized that that’s how he views the world. That’s how he views his mission, his purpose and what he’s doing.

It is personal. It’s very sincere. It’s very true.

David Miscavige represents the standards of Scientology

David Miscavige gives Scientology the image—the standard. When you look at him, you see how he behaves in life. How he treats people, how he operates. No matter what area of life, whether it’s his personal life or his professional life. In any given situation, he epitomizes what Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard put in place.

He sets the standards as a Scientologist in his own actions. These would be the actions that a Scientologist would take. This is how a Scientologist would behave. So when I look at somebody like Mr. Miscavige I go, “Wow.” It’s something that I can now just measure my life by. Measure my actions by.

Am I living up to what I should be as a Scientologist? And am I doing everything that I can to make a difference? So he sets for all of us just an amazing example as a humanitarian in his own right. As a leader in his own right.
