The Church of Scientology and Community Center of Harlem, New York, opened their doors July 31. One of the guest speakers at the even, Rev. Joseph J. Jones, said: “Harlem has been the renaissance of a great many movements. It’s just stand-to-reason that the Church of Scientology would be another chapter in Harlem’s history for another great movement.” His was a very inspiring speech and I include it here. Read more

An article on International Religious Freedom Day (today) on the new Scientology Religion website bears repeating. Freedom of religion or belief may well be the most important of all human rights. It encompasses freedom of conscience–the freedom to have one’s own thoughts and beliefs, to maintain one’s own personal integrity, one’s individuality, to see and conclude based on one’s own viewpoint. This 1998 International Religious Freedom Act extends from the importance granted this right by our Founding Fathers as expressed in the First... Read more

I hope you find this video shocking. I do. It is criminal to allow our babies and children to be put on dangerous psychiatric drugs. Here is another video with a tragic example of the ramifications:   Read more

At the grand opening of the Church of Scientology Atlanta earlier this year, I found the speech by Rev. Dr. James Milner particularly moving, especially when he described marching with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “My thirst for freedom is born from these experiences,” he said. “Drugs are the almighty oppressor today. They cause people to lose their humanity. Then addiction leads to deprivation, which brings about desperation. The crime rate goes up. The educational levels drop and the family... Read more

Many people think the practice of ECT is a thing of the past. Would that it were. This month’s Freedom Magazine exposes gross abuses in the psychiatric industry and the FDA’s negligence in failing to enforce their own regulations requiring ECT machine manufacturers to undertake clinical trials. And here’s something I was very surprised to read: “Today, some 200,000 Americans undergo ECT treatments each year, resulting in an estimated $1.8 billion in revenue. The unapproved, so-called “off-label” use of ECT among children—that is,... Read more

On behalf of anyone who may have had an argument today, or someone who simply can’t understand why “they don’t get it.” And in the interest of preventing all the many social and personal ramifications from misunderstandings, I recommend this simple video. It can work wonders. Read more

Among the most basic principles of the Church of Scientology are the belief that all men and woman have the right to practice their beliefs as they see fit. It is part of the Creed of the Church of Scientology: “That all men have inalienable rights to their own religious practices and their performance.” In “Religious Influence in Society,” an essay published in the 1970s, Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard wrote: “Religion is the first sense of community. Your sense of community occurs... Read more

The Scientology Religion website, published two weeks ago, continues to update content daily, with blog posts and new videos from religious scholars, interfaith leaders and those who partner with the Church in its humanitarian activities. One recent entry is an excerpt from the speech of Rev. Johnny Ray Youngblood, Senior Pastor of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church delivered at the grand opening of the new Church of Scientology and Community Center of Harlem, New York. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana,... Read more

For the second consecutive year, the Kaohsiung City government recognized the Church of Scientology with its Meritorious Religion Award. Mayor Ju Chen presented the award September 20, with Social Reform Officer Ivan Chuang accepting the plaque on behalf of the Church and its parishioners. “This is an excellent initiative of the Kaohsiung City government to acknowledge good work being done in the community,” said Chuang. “It inspires religious groups such as ours to help society more. We are very active in the... Read more

An article in the Tampa Bay Times pays fitting tribute to Chick Corea, winner of 22 Grammy Awards, according to the Times’ Jay Cridlin, and a Scientologist for more than 40 years. The whole article is worth reading. I’m sharing a section that relates to Chick as a Scientologist: “From his childhood growing up outside Boston, he was a piano prodigy, learning the trade from his father, a Dixieland trumpeter, and later studying, briefly, at Columbia and Juilliard. During the 1960s he... Read more
