Well, not everything he says is actually wrong. In his press report on July 12, he made a rather interesting statement, “It’s a war in which an enemy will kill innocent men, women and children in order to achieve a political objective.” Clearly he is correct. Clearly, the implication of this is that it is wrong to kill innocent men, women and children to achieve political objectives. I really agree with this line of thinking.
It is also why I oppose much of what is going on in Iraq. The rhetoric we get when American soldiers kill innocent men, women and children is that it is “collateral damage.” That’s the same thing we hear from our enemies. Does it not sound like both sides really play from the same playbook?
