Red State, a blog at which fellow contributor Alexham offers commentary, has decided to disallow new members the right to author posts regarding Ron Paul. There are many who do not like this decision. I confess that I don’t have a dog in this race. I will also confess that I’m repulsed by libertarianism. Ron Paul has a certain attractiveness for me due to some of his views, but his libertarianism has kept me from offering formal support.
On the substance of the matter, I agree with Red State. I don’t agree with Red State because I think Ron Paul is unworthy of being included in the primary debate. I agree with Red State, because I’m not a fan of interlopers. Many of Ron Paul’s supporters may indeed have been long time GOP supporters. They have not however been long time Red State supporters as is evidenced by Red State feeling the need to restrict this to those who have been members less than 6 months. Nobody is owed a forum. If I were Red State and I had a bunch of members who just joined so that they could tell the other members that Ron Paul is great, I would be annoyed.
What say yee?
