Obama Reverses Decision

Obama Reverses Decision March 19, 2009

While President Obama is trying to reconstruct the American health care system, he had a rather bad idea when he wanted to start billing the private insurers for treatment given to veterans at VA hospitals. One can find two different reasons for this: 1) it goes against the idea of health care reform by trying to increase use of insurance companies, and 2) it goes against the respect and care the United States should have for those who served in its military.

Thankfully, Obama has heard the criticism and now has abandoned this rather daft proposal. While it is clear the president needs to find a way to cut budget costs, one of the ways you do not do so is to charge those who have already already sacrificed much of their lives for the common good to do so again, when others are far more capable of doing so and have not yet done so.

Perhaps he should look to the sports and movie industries for funding.
