A God With No Name

Brian Larnder

This is a book about god, about his origins and evolution - past and present and well into the future.  Of course the word "god" means different things to different people so I have had to narrow down the topic.  When I write of God I am specifically referring to the monotheistic god or western civilization (sorry if my bias is showing).  This is the god of the Torah and the Bible and, therefore by extension, the god of the Qur'an, the Guru Granth Sahib, the Kitab-i-Aqdas and countless other holy scriptures descended from the lineage of ideas and ways of thinking about the world.   | read more»

About the Book and Author

A God with No Name is an original take on the history of god and tells the story of his evolution from the lowly son of a Canaanite tribal deity up to his present position as a being of universal power and prestige. The book draws on source material from the Torah, the Ugaritic Baal Cycle and the Book of Enoch, as well as other writings from the ancient world. | read more »
