AYELET ZURER (The Mother) first garnered the attention of American audiences when Steven Spielberg cast her as Eric Bana's wife in the Oscar-nominated film Munich. Zurer went on to star opposite Tom Hanks in the worldwide box office hit Angels & Demons directed by Ron Howard. She was then seen opposite Russell Crowe in Man of Steel directed by Zack Snyder, and Last Nights, opposite Clive Owen and Morgan Freeman. She most recently starred in the Netflix/Marvel series "Daredevil" opposite Vincent D'Onofrio.
Zurer, one of Israel's most acclaimed actresses, won the Israeli Film Academy Award for her starring role as the title character in Nina's Tragedies and received nominations for her work in the features Only Dogs Run Free, The Dybbuk from the Holy Applefield, Desperado and Rutenberg. Zurer also won the Israeli Television Academy Best Actress Award for "In Therapy" (later adapted for American television as HBO's "In Treatment") and more recently for "Bnei Aruba" (which was adapted for American television as CBS' "Hostages"). Zurer also won Best Actress at the Festival de Television de Monte-Carlo for her performance in the latter.
Zurer's other feature films include Vantage Point with Dennis Quaid and William Hurt; Fugitive Pieces with Stephen Dillane; Lawrence Kasdan's Darling Companion with Diane Keaton and Kevin Kline; and Paul Schrader's Adam Resurrected with Jeff Goldblum and Willem Dafoe.
Zurer will next be seen in Ben Hur, opposite Jack Huston and Morgan Freeman. She can currently be seen on the first season of the Netflix/Marvel series "Daredevil" co-starring opposite Vincent D'Onofrio.
