Krishna is one of the most popular deities in Hinduism. Depending on the tradition, he is usually worshipped as either the eighth avatara of the Supreme God Vishnu or seen as being the Supreme God in his own right. According to Hindu tradition, Krishna was born to Queen Devaki and hidden away by Vasudeva to keep the infant Krishna safe from Devaki's brother who wants to kill Krishna. Krishna grows up a mischievous cow herder before overthrowing his evil uncle, Kamsa. Krishna reinstates Ugrasena as king and joins Arjuna during the Kurukshetra war described in the Mahabharata.
