Louis Farrakhan Sr. was born Louis Eugene Walcott and known as Louis X. Following Warith Deen Muhammad's disbanding of the Nation of Islam, Farrakhan revived the name and began rebuilding the organization. He organized the Million Man March in 1995 and continued to be active with the Nation of Islam even after he began struggling with health issues. He is a controversial figure and has been accused of homophobia, antisemitism and anti-white theology.
