He is believed to have written the Gathas and Yasna Haptanghaiti, hymns composed in his native dialect that comprise the core of Zoroastrian thinking. He characterized the human condition as a constant mental battle between truth and lies. His philosophy is believed to have influenced Judaism, Middle Platonism and especially the Greek philosopher Heraclitus.
