Berkowitz is already back to training his dogs. This summer, he'll return to Skagway, where he'll provide dog-sled tours for visitors who come off the cruise ships there. And he's thinking ahead to next year's race. "The dogs are entering their prime now," he said. "They're going to be a very scary team to race next year, and I expect them to finish in the top 10."

Moving from England to Australia to Israel and now America, Kelly Hartog is a seasoned reporter and editor with over 15 years experience. She spent 10 years living and working in Israel at ARIEL - the Arts and Letters magazine of Israel's Foreign Ministry, as a news editor at both RadioWest and Jerusalem Post Radio and as an editor and reporter at The Jerusalem Post newspaper. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2004, Kelly established a monthly Jewish magazine in Orange County, and freelances for a variety of publications including The Jerusalem Post, Israel21c, The Jewish Telegraphic Agency, The Forward, Los Angeles Blueprint and the Jewish Journal of Los Angeles. Kelly received a Jewish Day School education, has taught Jewish education through drama workshops, and was the program director for Limmud Los Angeles - a three day conference for Jewish professionals and lay people from all Jewish denominations.
