Always A Seeker

It was my study of Buddhism that began to open up a new meaning to Jesus' teachings on the Kingdom or Realm of God on earth. It seemed clear to me that the Four Immeasurables or Four Limitless Qualities of the rich Tibetan tradition were very similar to the most fundamental and dynamic teachings of Jesus. As I read about the role of the warrior-bodhisattva, who comes down from the mountain in order to alleviate suffering, I gained another perspective on the life story of Jesus. Interestingly, it was the Buddhist tradition that brought me back to Jesus, but it was a very different Jesus than the one I learned about in my Sunday school class more than fifty years ago.

I am glad I was a seeker and I am glad I continue to be a seeker into the mysteries that we cannot possibly fathom or even imagine. And I am glad there are other seekers who continue to grow and change and are willing to live with a tender heart for this world.
