Confidence, Pride, and the Sin of Insecurity

God promised Israel that there would be a time when "the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever" (Isa. 32:18). The context of this prophecy tells us why: there is a king in place. So here you see the dynamic tension so carefully in place! The king is in place, so we are quietly at peace and confident!

Do you not light up a room when you enter? Well, then, you will probably need to work on your social skills. (Really.) But the good news is that you can have a quiet confidence that anything that is accomplished for ministry will have to be done by God alone! Find trust in him and repent of the sin of insecurity; it's His plan and it's His message. He bears the responsibility for its success or failure.

If anyone should be nervous about this plan and message it should be God! His lack of insecurity is ours; His security is ours. Be confident.
