Lesson Four: Sell the Dream, Induce the Nightmare

It is, after all, just business.

Oh my dear earthworms. What a thrill it gives me just thinking about it. I only hope you have the pleasure one day of strolling through Times Square and Madison Avenue. These shrines to our propaganda successes are exciting to see. There the advertisements are ten stories high! The glittering lights and flashing screens pulse with pleasure! The huge images of sex and power are far, far more powerfully seductive than all the gods and goddesses of old! The images and slogans of consumption simply blaze across the night sky—all of it one huge, glorious, and unbelievably beautiful Vanity Fair.

There now I've gotten so excited I've spilled my cup of lava and it's burnt a hole in the desk. Glimwort, go the janitor's cupboard, will you my good worm? Clean up the mess before you go. Chapter fifteen for homework, slugs, and I will see you next session.
