The Path of Dharma and Just War: Two Hindu American Perspectives

Maybe we should build a new foreign policy, as described by Peace Action of Michigan, an organization which I support, "based on the abolition of all weapons of mass destruction, and on the primacy of non-violence, human rights, socially just international law, and respectful participation with international institutions as the basis of that policy."

Perhaps the struggle for justice is in turning inward, in determining what is evil: is it Gadhafi, or the humanitarian crises here in the U.S.—the need for jobs and healthcare, and helping people out of poverty? Peace is what we seek within—within ourselves, within our borders. And finding Truth, walking the complicated path of dharma, is in finding the balance between these two Hindu American perspectives, and defining what is a just war.
