Yes, There Are Christian Versions Of ISIS

Qasim Rashid is a lawyer, human rights activist, and Muslim. He’s also a friend of mine and I was happy to review his excellent book Talk To Me: Changing the Narrative on Race, Religion, & Education.  Despite our religious differences, I share many values in common with Qasim and think he does outstanding activist work. Qasim regularly deals with trolls on social media and I admire his patience when trying to talk some sense into them.

Recently, someone from the internet asked Qasim “why are there no Christian versions of ISIS” and Qasim had a great reply. Here are the following screenshots from the clap back Qasim shared on Twitter:

I think Qasim did a great job here as I often try to tell people there are Christian terrorists.  Any religious ideology can be used to support terrorism. Only focusing on Islam is simply incorrect and can reveal one’s biases.
