What the Hell is Wrong With You Scientists??

Seriously, scientists, what is WRONG with you?? How could you not tell us about THIS??

What Prayer Does to Your Brain

This video reveals how prayer actually changes four distinct areas of the human brain: the frontal lobe, the anterior cingulate, the parietal lobe, and the limbic system.

It also details how a specific amount of prayer time per day can help prevent memory loss, mental decline, and even dementia or Alzheimer’s.

Plus, it covers 47 scientifically proven benefits of prayer, including pain relief, reduced risk of death from heart attack or stroke, lessened anxiety or depression, improved immune function, and more.

All this time, I LAUGHED at people who prayed. And now I find out there is SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE, yes proven scientific evidence, that all those nice Christians are going to live longer, happier lives! While all us atheists will die cold and alone, with depleted anterior cingulates and seriously compromised limbic systems. And probably have Alzheimer’s too!

As you watch the video, bear in mind that it’s totally unbiased.

    It is is it?

Post-structuralism would have something to say about that!

    I’m praying this isn’t true.

  • ‘Tis Himself, OM.

That must be some of that Sofistimacated Theologie™ that us atheists is ignorant of.

meditation will have the same effect on the brain….as will a few minutes of silence.

  • Richard

Of course simple regular (non religious) mediation would have the effect. (I Agree with ArtOfchocolate)

Damn! You had me worried you were *serious* for a moment there….

I don’t think there has ever been any question that praying effect what is inside your head. The issue is whether it has an effect on what is outside your head. All of the evidence supports the conclusion that prayer has no effect on anything other than the emotional state of the person praying.

I didn’t watch the video. As soon as I saw that it was on Newsmax.com I knew it was worthless. They keep trying to tell me secrets that will get Obama fired and other balderdash.

This isn’t anywhere as interesting as the one showing a woman’s brain when she’s having an orgasm.

I’ve seen some interesting effects from the subject experiencing a metal rod shoved through their brain. The prayists might want to look into this.

Well, as if the high tech video didn’t blow me away, I was at least thankful that the announcer read the captions slowly enough for my little brain to try to comprehend them. Besides, he used impressive words like “neurotheology” “limbic” and “double-blind”. He even knew where the frontal lobe is located. Gosh! So it must be unbiased and true, right? Just sign up for the “free” report. Look for the BIG orange button. Uh-huh.

Ahem, anyway. I could feel my mental health & happiness slipping away as I watched that drivel. Honestly couldn’t finish watching it. Might be funny after a few beers though….
