Poor Fox News

A comedy show is beating out the “news” dished up by Fox network. Yeah, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

Stewart and his team are more honest, they check their facts, and any single comedian on the Daily Show is infinitely funnier than the pond scum on Fox.

Jon Stewart Crushes Fox News In The 2011 Ratings

Jon Stewart has thrown a wrench in the Fox News cycle of life by educating his millions of younger viewers about Fox News. Stewart spends segments debunking the propaganda, exposing facts, and uncovering the edited video that is the bread and butter of America’s top cable news network.

Read this next sentence and just kinda savor it for a bit:

Every night Stewart is teaching Americans how to not watch Fox News.

Every night Stewart is teaching Americans how to not watch Fox News.

Kudos to Stewart for performing this vital task.

As a non-USAsian could someone explain something to me. We are talking about less than 1% of your population. Why is FOX seen as so influential when so few people watch

  • d cwilson

    MichaelJ:

Because that 1% are very vocal and have a huge persecution complex.

Stewart himself has said that the fact that his show is seen as a more reliable source of political news than the actual news media by a high percentage of his viewers is something that the news media deserves to be ashamed of.

I will say, though, that Fox can be pretty funny, too. Remember during that last primary season when there was discussion of Clinton and Obama having “Lincoln/Douglas-style” debates and Fox reported this with pictures of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass in the background? That’s funny right there. I don’t care who you are.

They really ARE the “best f*@!ing news team on TV”.

I’ve watched this for many years from afar in Scotland, though it’s only the global edition that is broadcast here. Clips on utube are OK but the whole show is often unavailable to Europe
(I’m guessing, if anyone knows where to get it, let me know please)
The show is great and helps balance out the usual media spin you get on America and Amercicans

  • evodawg

    otrame:

That is funny, but how many Fox News viewers know who Frederick Douglass was. Or Stephen Douglas for that matter.

@MichaelJ – The total number is a bit deceptive. It represents the number of viewers at that time, and the amount (1.868 million viewers during primetime) is typically more than double the next cable news network (usually MSNBC, but sometimes CNN). In fact, approximately 1/2 the US population that watches prime time cable news watches Fox News (aka Faux News) on average.

So the Daily Show being able to beat that number is very, very good news. Hopefully the Faux News numbers will continue to decline until at least 2/3 of the population understands that it is only a propaganda network.
