And what’s with all the liberty university ads? And the anti-gay ads targeting the minnesota ballot issue?

  • Trebuchet

Recursive recursion is recursive! Although now the Christian Prayer Center has been replaced by a Ron Paul “money bomb” ad.

Oops, no, CPC is just lower down. There seem to be a LOT of contrary ads on CPC lately!

  • Trebuchet

Oooh! Now I can get a Free Anti-Christ book from the Voice of Elijah. And become an ordained pastor! And order “Not Of This World” clothing. And get my drug habit fixed. I’m guessing there’s a religious aspect to that one as well.

      Huh?

  • http://Payperclick Nino

They tend to have to pay per click.
So just click them and they will be paying for a good cause. After all, a part of the money they are paying is going to freethoughtblogs.com :-)

There’s also those bizzare ads for the Puritan Hard Drive. No clue what that is, and I’m kinda afraid to find out.

A Puritan hard drive is a $350 (or so) USB hard drive loaded with “Puritan Literature”. I looked up several of their selections, and each one I checked was available for free from Project Gutenberg. We used to call this stuff “shovelware”.

I work in a library, I’m not allowed to break into bouts of spontaneous loud laughter!

  • Brad

Everytime I see a religous ad on an atheist blog, I make sure to click it. It opens up in a separate window so doesn’t interfere with my reading, and means another couple of coppers in the pocket of the blogger. Click ‘em everytime, folks!

    Snarkception!

Yo dawg, I heard you like mocking foolishness…

  • The Amazing Rando

They rejected my prayer request! All I asked for was that “God” should appear in a biological laboratory so the scientists at the lab could gather the proof that there is indeed a “God” and that we would finally have the proof that “God” is real and the Christian “God.”

I wonder why they would reject a request like that?

    • http://www.facebook.com/corey.finney.1 coreyfinney

Because just as Jesus Christ Himself refused to give certain of His critics a sign on demand, even though He healed multitudes who came to Him for help, rejecting such a “request” is essentially the same thing.

    • http://www.facebook.com/corey.finney.1 coreyfinney

Mathew 12:38-40 Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered, saying, “Teacher, we desire to see a sign from You.”
But answering, He said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks a sign, and a sign shall not be given to it, except the sign of Jonah the prophet. And even as ‘Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish three days and three nights,’ so shall the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth three days and three nights.”

This text is from the Literal Version.
This account is actually quite abbreviated from the discourse he gave in other accounts.
He gives signs to those who are truly seeking. Generally speaking, He rejects those who mock. There have been exceptions, of course!
