Palin Resigns Governorship!!

Story here:

In a stunnign announcement, Gov. Sarah Palin said Friday morning she will resign her office in a few weeks.

It is baffling if she wants to run for president that she would think that not even finishing her term as a governor is going to help her.  Especially when even conservative opinion makers like Charles Krauthammer (not to be confused with Charles Krautcamel) is admitting that her only path to credibility involves actually becoming more focused on developing coherent views on policy so that she’s not just blathering empty platitudes:

She cost McCain the election, her folkyness, accent and winking do not ring true, her intellect is below par (our vivid memory of the last one who delegates and follows because of their lack of intellect), but lets face it with the right type of marketing (vote folky, vote god) it can be sold to US, history tends to repeat itself. God help us!

Yes, Benito, she sure did cost him that election. My dad usually tilts more conservative and was down on Obama most of the race but when he voted for Obama he said it was the first time a VP nominee ever played a significant part in his decision. She was just that unqualified and dangerous.

Her speech today was an incoherent embarrassment. Her reasoning boiled down to “other lame duck governors have kicked back and taken it easy and toured the world instead of serving the people, so I decided I’m not going to do that and the only way not to do that is to resign early.” Like if she decided to stay she would HAVE to tour the world and kick back instead of taking it easy? Like that was her only option and she just COULDN’T work hard even without reelection on the line??

And then she cites the commitment of the troops as an inspiration to quit her own service? Because you can get more accomplished apparently by NOT being governor but merely agitating from outside government? It was so much lack of logic and painful to the ears.
