Dr. Daniel Fincke  has his PhD in philosophy from Fordham University and spent 11 years teaching in college classrooms. He wrote his dissertation on Ethics and the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche.     Pat always makes a lot of good points, but he also makes too many blanket statements. Certainly this tirade doesn’t apply to all or even a majority of clergy.

    It’s interesting that he gives us the origin of the word heretic at the end, since I’ve been planning on doing a post about heresy since reading this blog post:

    Greg is the pastor of the church I attended before my deconversion. I have a lot of respect for him, though we obviously don’t see eye to eye on several things. I wasn’t heavily involved at his church so I don’t actually know him personally.

    Yeah, I agree with you on all you said there about this Condell video, his tirades are usually more pointed than this one. I had to run with it because it’s only the second new Pat Condell since the blog’s been operational and I have really looked forward to premiering one!

    And I look forward to your retort to Pastor Greg’s complaint against “heresy.” I really have a hard time bearing reading Christians try to talk about how irrational others are and then pointing to Jesus or a silly arbitrary religious doctrine as supposedly more rational.
