I recently read The Invisible Gorilla by Christopher Chabris and Daniel Simons. It was a very interesting book. I think it’s disconcerting to realize that we’re even more crippled and limited by our brains than it might seem. Although, I suppose it can also be argued that there are valid reasons we’ve evolved to be good at concentrating on one particular thing and ignoring other things. Were it any other way, we’d probably wander around in a constant daze, and get nothing accomplished at all.
