    My significant other and I had the pleasure of attending a lecture Mr. Sullivan gave on this very topic in 1997 at a gay bookstore in San Diego. CSPAN was at the event, as well. A young straight couple with a baby were in the audience and sometime during the lecture the baby began to babble happily, as babies are wont to do. Mr. Sullivan was actually charmed that this couple had brought their baby to the gay bookstore to attend the lecture.
