Marshmallow Man Thinks Michelle Obama Is Fat

UPDATE: The second quote below (with references to swimsuit models and Alex Rodriguez) is not from the Congressman, as I first reported, but from Rush Limbaugh.

Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner (pictured above) was reportedly overheard saying of Michelle Obama:

She lectures us on eating right while she has a large posterior herself

And Rush Limbaugh put it like this earlier this year:

The problem is, and dare I say this, it doesn’t look like Michelle Obama follows her own nutritionary, dietary advice…I’m trying to say that our First Lady does not project the image of women that you might see on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue or of a woman Alex Rodriguez might date every six months or what have you.

So, basically the “problem” is that she is an actual human being and not emaciated or like a photoshopped alien. Being an insanely hot human woman like the unqualifiedly glamorous and gorgeous Michelle Obama is just not good enough, so she must have a “bad diet”. She needs a “good diet” like anorexia or bulimia.

She needs to stop bulking up with all that vigorous exercise. She needs to stop having babies or go back in time and have never had her kids. Or change her genes. And stop aging. You know, lest her body ever changes from that of a 21 year old childless Scandinavian model.

In a nation filled with eating disorders and body hatred, we get people like this ignorant Congressman, who himself looks like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man (pictured below), in power bashing a brilliant, buff, and beautiful woman like Michelle Obama for having the gall to combat childhood obesity.

Your Thoughts?

Michelle Obama ain’t fat, that guy is. Hmm . can anyone say projection?

Abhorrent comments from a hypocritical very ignorant and arguably misogynist, pitiable fool.

I’m sure Michelle Obama will treat him and his words with the disdain and complete ignoring they deserve.

  • d cwilson

I haven’t seen such nake misogyny from the right since, well, Hillary Clinton was First Lady. Of course, this is the same Rush Limbaugh who once referred to Chelsea Clinton as the “White House dog”.

  • New England Bob

Why would anyone pay any attention to the fat, druggie, liar, bullshit spewer Rush Limbaugh?

If Rush says it, believe the opposite.

    • obama unqualified

believe him over any progressive they are the cancer in america

  • julian

Kinda (ok very) off topic but that model looks unhealthy to me. Like, dangerously so.

Back on topic, I love the absurdity of it all.

By what right does a congressman, a member of our legislative class, go around criticizing his political enemy’s appearance? How is that in any way professional? Not only is it arguably sexist, it’s downright unbecoming of a U.S. official.

Someone school this fool on how a Not To Be An Ass 101.

    • obama unqualified

the truth ok here it is
michelle the (fat one in the whitehouse) called this on herself by fighting for the rights of the fit and slim which she is not part of. so how can you balem the congressman. blame the stupidity of the obama’s lol november 6th is almost here time to crush the democraps

  • lordshipmayhem

In the picture of the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man, is he holding a Diet Pepsi?

  • Tiktaalik

I, and many women I know, would give a body part to be built like Michelle Obama. I wonder how many men would say the same about the Senator?

    • obama unqualified

any woman want to look like michelle. lol go ahead. i always said if m3en want a happy marriage marry a conservative woman. michelle and her kind are outlawed in good restaurants as anyone looking at them would throw up
michelle is one gross big butted gross excuse of a woman

  • Vicki

The criticism wouldn’t be any better or more valid if the critic was healthy, thin, and conventionally attractive. (Or, for that matter, if he was unhealthy, but thin, well-dressed, and with a fancy hairdo.)

Either way, the problem is that they’re criticizing Obama’s body instead of her policy suggestions, and implying that to be worth listening to, a woman has to meet ridiculous standards of appearance.

    • obama unqualified

michelle policy dont overeat asnd get fat lol so michelle stop eating and exercise and maybe just maybe your ass will shrink to fit in a box car

  • http://freethoughtblogs.com/camelswithhammers Daniel Fincke

implying that to be worth listening to, a woman has to meet ridiculous standards of appearance.

No, he’s not making that broader charge that women have to be attractive to be listened to. He’s specifically making a charge of hypocrisy—that Obama is forcing citizens to do what she does not do. It’s specifically because she’s addressing obesity and is, by his ludicrously misinformed standards, “overweight” that she is allegedly a hypocrite.

The criticism wouldn’t be any better or more valid if the critic was healthy, thin, and conventionally attractive. (Or, for that matter, if he was unhealthy, but thin, well-dressed, and with a fancy hairdo.)

No, it would not be anymore valid but it would be less hypocritical of the man trying to call out hypocrites.

    • julian

But doesn’t the reality of Mrs. Obama being a clearly very fit woman still being charged with being overweight sort of support Vicki’s point? That it’s implied in the both Congressman Sensenbrenner and Mr. Limbaugh’s charge of hypocrisy that a woman must have a supermodel figure before she can speak out?

Here you have a healthy woman, who clearly exercises (I think both Obamas set aside like 30 minutes for the treadmill a day. or maybe that was campaign bs, I dunno) and takes good care of herself. And yet she does not meet the standards of someone who can speak out on health matters without being accused of being overweight and therefore a hypocrite.

Personally I’m more inclined to believe Mr. Limbaugh is looking for any excuse to behave like the dinner plate sized sexist asshole he is (don’t know nearly enough about Mr. Sensenbrenner) and this is as good an excuse as any.

  • ‘Tis Himself, OM.

Considering that both Sensenbrenner and Limbaugh could stand to lose a few ounces, maybe they should start listening to Obama.

  • jay

While people keep bringing up anorexic models and the evils of ‘thin culture’, it is true that MO is probably well over the currently government approved weight. If we were all suddenly to match our government suggested ideal, we’d be a lot closer to the magazine models than the the normal person in the street.

  • Tamara

Your First Lady looks totally human and unique, unlike lots of “re-printed” stiff face celebs.

  • Wincy

She is fat, in some countries should would be considered obese. Anybody denying she is overweight needs to get their brain unwashed. Programmed much?
