Dr. Daniel Fincke  has his PhD in philosophy from Fordham University and spent 11 years teaching in college classrooms. He wrote his dissertation on Ethics and the philosophy of Friedrich Nietzsche.     Geeze, I completely misunderstood the guy’s message for the entire first verse.

    However, either way… catchy tunes don’t actually affect the truth-value of words.

    I went to a concert of his fairly recently- he played a show in Houston. It was quite fun to watch the people around me singing along with that chorus. Most of them had this slightly uncomfortable and defiant expression on their faces, like “yeah I’m saying this! I can barely believe it, but I’m saying this”.
