How To Want To Change Your Mind

I have been invited to be a part of Freethought Blogs’ online conference “FTBConscience“. I will be on a July 19 evening panel about critical thinking along with Jeremy Beahan and Julia Galef, moderated by Ed Brayton. So don’t make plans for that Friday night!

Relatedly, I just discovered this excellent video Julia made about actively training yourself mentally to be willing to change your mind in light of good reasons.

I got the video from this good post on related subjects by my new Facebook close friend Robby Bensinger.

This is exactly why I wanted Julia on the panel. I’m really hoping that she’ll still be able to do it (it’s kind of up in the air at the moment).

By the way, Julia just confirmed that she will be joining us. Perfect timing! I’m really looking forward to this. You, Julia and Jeremy are three of the clearest and most consistently reasonable people I know. I can’t think of anyone better to be on the panel.
