Let’s Get This Show on the Road

As most of you probably know, I’ve been writing for Daylight Atheism for quite some time now. But in all that time, save for a few exceptions, none of you out there in cyberspace have ever met me in person. Well, it’s time for that to change.

As of today, I’m now on the speakers’ bureau of the Secular Student Alliance, and I’m accepting speaking invitations from SSA affiliates and other freethought groups in the U.S. and Canada. (The SSA page still needs a little work, I know. You can also see my own speaking page, which has a list of topics, till that one’s fully up and running.)

Other than reimbursement for travel expenses, I’m not charging for this – it’s a privilege to offer my service to the growing secular community [EDIT: I live in New York City, if that's relevant to you and your budget]. So, if you like what you’ve read on Daylight Atheism or Ebon Musings, and if you represent a convention or a student group that’s interested in seeing me speak, send me a message and let’s talk!

    Very cool, Adam. Congrats!

Great news! I hope you’ll be in Southern California again soon – for a lecture this time!

  • http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~edmin/Pamphlets Cyberguy

    Excellent! It’s a good move.

I think your blog is great. You have a lot of good points to make, and the more ways you can get your point of view out there, the better!

Pity that New Zealand is a bit too far to travel. Otherwise I would come and hear you.

  • BJ Marshall

Let me know if you ever come to the Baltimore/D.C. region. I’d love to stop by.

  • David Hart

Yup, pretty much what Cyberguy said. If you’re ever on holiday in Scotland, I’m sure Dundee University Atheist Society would be keen to engage you though.

Hi Adam- good for you! I’ll let the Freethinkers group in Louisville know about your availability. I don’t know if U of L has a branch of Secular Students, but it would be a good campus for them to have a presence. Of course, I hope you know you have a place to stay if you come to this area. :)

  • Keith

That’s great news. I look forward to hearing you speak some day, whether live or over the intertubes. Your blog has long been a source of intellectual inspiration to me.

  • Brock

I’m in the Albany/Schenectady region. If you come up this way, let me know. I’d love to meet you and hear you speak.

Will you answer sex questions? I’m not sure I got good information from the Catholic Church yesterday.

  • John Nernoff

What are your favorite, say 5, topics with which you can really do a job on the audience?

My top one (to hear) would be a quick and dirty talk on evolution which will utterly convince skeptics and people who sort of understand it but have doubts.

Another would be the (non-) historicity of Jesus. They always seem to compare Caesar with Jesus; how can even be sure Caesar existed with relatively scanty evidence and not Jesus?
