    I always like to hear about freethinkers who come from godless families; it’s nice to have examples to point to when religious people get all, “well and good that you are an atheist, but children need religion–how else will they learn right from wrong, blah blah blah.” Even some non-believing friends of mine have gone the Unitarian route, or (worst of all, imo) going through the motions of church-going “for the children.” Your parents bucked a lot of social pressure to raise you in the way they did.
