Bloggingheads on the Norway Shooter

Bloggingheads on the Norway Shooter July 31, 2011

Michelle Goldberg and Michael Dougherty have an interesting conversation about the Norway shooter and the claim that he’s a Christian fundamentalist, which both agree is false. Breivik was personally rather ambivalent about Christianity and his use of the phrase “Christian Europe” was used to mean what he perceived to be “white European” culture.

There is no such thing, of course. Adolf Hitler and Anne Frank were both white and European. Richard Dawkins and Pope Benedict are both white and European. They certainly do not share any set of beliefs that is worth separating out as anything unique.
