Kuhner: LGBT People Worse Then Commies, Terrorists

Jeffrey Kuhner, president of the Edmund Burke Institute and a columnist for the Moonie-owned Washington Times, went on Janet Mefferd’s radio show last week and declared that LGBT people are the most intolerant in the entire world, even worse than communists and Muslim terrorists.

Kuhner: As a journalist I write on a wide range of issues, I write on the Communist Chinese, I write on Putin’s regime, I write on brutal dictatorships over the world, the gay, lesbian, transgender community, the LGBT community, is the most intolerant than I have ever witnessed, they are even worse than the radical Islamists. I get death threats, my family is threatened, they call on me to be fired, they want to destroy my career. I have never seen people as intolerant, as malicious, as so desperate to engage in smear and slander and libel as people and activists in the LGBT community, it is really despicable. So for them to run around and say over and over again, all we want is tolerance, all we want is respect for diversity, all we want is respect for civil rights, it is a complete lie. They don’t practice what they preach, they are some of the most fanatical, hate-filled, and I’m choosing my words very carefully, and intolerant people I’ve ever met. I believe that Middle America does not understand the full threat posed by the homosexual agenda and the homosexual lobby.

I believe him when he says he’s choosing his words carefully. He’s just an idiot.

Kuhner: The moment the people have spoken, you see these secular, progressive liberals go right away to the courts, and three, five or seven judges, almost fascists in black robes, are now able to overturn and thumb their nose at the will of the people. They are becoming increasingly tyrannical, they’re becoming increasingly anti-democratic, and I believe you’re now seeing a soft totalitarianism begin to emerge among the hard left.

You mean like the right did with health care reform? Or the assisted suicide law in Oregon? Or medical marijuana in California? Totalitarianism! These people are just fucking nuts. Remember, this guy works for the Rev. Moon, who is an actual totalitarian. And he shares Moon’s anti-gay hatred.

“…the most intolerant [community] than I have ever witnessed”.

Oh yeah? Tell it to Jessica Ahlquist.

  • Draken

Geez, I wonder why people might want to destroy this person’s career.

I also wonder why the Washington Times isn’t boycotted on a massive scale.

Apparently Moonies as well as fundie Christians & vampires don’t see their reflections in mirrors.

Ah, the smell of projection in the morning — it smells of hypocrisy.

That’s funny, I want to see Kuhner’s career destroyed and I’m straight!

And American Christian evangelicals. He forgot the Christian evangelicals.

I get death threats, my family is threatened, they call on me to be fired, they want to destroy my career.

Wait, what? How is that worse than the radical Islamists? Hell, at least with the radical Islamists, the threats are real!

Draken – there is no need to boycott the Times, the free market is doing that on its own. The Times has been running at a loss for years; I believe the Rev. Moon had to bail it out of bankruptcy just last year.

Its not really a paper at all any more. When a person pays to have their message disseminated in written form, its typically called advertising, not news.

And we’re back to the wingnut hate for the judiciary for the millionth time. As always, I suspect his real problem is that we’re a nation with rule of law and limitations on what the government can do. In other words, he hates that we’re all supposed to have equal rights that can’t be taken away by popular vote. That’s what judicial review is for: Making sure the laws don’t violate those rights for arbitrary reasons.

He doesn’t want a constitional, egalitarian democracy, he wants mob rule anarchy where people can be lynched for daring to have an unpopular opinion or attribute.

Except for the few issues where he can’t even pretend his views are the majority view. Then it’s right back to “the US is a republic, not a democracy.”

They’re freaking out right now because they see their viewpoints and opinions on the decline. They need to get this mob rule authoritarian system properly running ASAP while they still have a chance to be the ones in charge.

You mean people in other countries who never read him don’t get angry at him? I am shocked!

This is just a case of he sees liberals angry at him for his hatemongering, and so he assumes they are the only ones. If he started taking on church/state separation and the evil the religious perpetrate in America (not in the mideast ) and see how fast the death threats and calls for his firing happen.

I also wonder why the Washington Times isn’t boycotted on a massive scale.

Because people would have to start reading it before they could boycott it.

And when that fails, they trot out the “America was always a Christian nation” lie.

Frankly, he SHOULD be scared of us. And we shouldn’t mind scaring him. We DO threaten his way of life. It’s a way of life predicated on archaic, fucked-up, kyriarchal values that very much needs to be threatened and, ultimately, abolished.

  • kagekiri

You guys are missing his point!

Haven’t you seen all the LGBT fatwas where righteous homophobes are silenced with assassinations and riots of crazed lunatics who cry for their blood? Or seen LGBT groups attempt genocide of all straight people in a country? Or seen the armed crusading armies of homosexuals burning churches and killing any who refuse same-sex marriage or who have a different sexuality?

Oh wait, the LGBT movement hasn’t done any of those things. That was religious people and actual fascists throughout history, killing those who disagreed with them and singling out gay people.

So what did those exceptionally intolerant LGBT people do? Ask for equal rights? OH, THE HUMANITY!

Gah, I need to go blank my mind, this stupidity is horrifying.

…they want to destroy my career.

Heaven forefend! That’s even worse than hijacking airplanes and crashing them into large buildings and killing thousands of innocent civilians in the space of a few minutes! Why it’s even scarier than black people getting all angry at the KKK! Quick, find me some pearls to clutch!!

    What a worthless self-centered crybaby.

  • M’thew

Yeah, just you wait and see what happens when the gay incarnation of McCarthy is elected Senator and gets serious!

    [snark]

It’s not as if not a single career of a gay/lesbian/bisexual/queer person has ever been destroyed by the (sometimes not so) unspoken Berufsverbot issued by the Christian right. Oh no. Perhaps it’s time for some “do not unto others…”
