Here’s a tribute too divorced from reality not to come from Planet Wingnuttia. Jim Hoft, the Gateway Pundit and one of the most ridiculously dishonest right wing bloggers in existence, is going to get the Reed Irvine Award at CPAC from Accuracy in Media, the organization Irvine founded:
Accuracy in Media will honor Catherine Herridge of the Fox News Channel for her outstanding achievements in investigative journalism, and Jim Hoft of Gateway Pundit for his groundbreaking contributions to New Media in a ceremony taking place at the 2013 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on March 14th. The Reed Irvine award is named for AIM’s founder, America’s first media watchdog…
Irvine also praised Jim Hoft, the proprietor of GatewayPundit.com. “His dedication to a free America and his personal devotion to democracy that has led him to cover freedom movements from inside Iran to the streets of Azerbaijan, have propelled GatewayPundit into one of the country’s top resources for right-of-center news and commentary.”
Jim Hoft? Accuracy? Not on this planet. Remember, this was the guy who claimed that a video of President Obama joking amiably with a press photographer was proof that he was an Angry Black Man (cue the scary music). In that sense, it is entirely appropriate that he get an award named after Reed Irvine, who practically invented the anti-media right wing narrative. To both of them, the only thing that is true is that which is in line with what they want to be true.
