Dan Fincke’s Accepting Students

My friend (and former FTBer) Dan Fincke is once again accepting students for his very unusual experiment in teaching philosophy outside of a university setting. This is something he started last year and I really think it’s a fascinating idea. As someone who thinks education should never stop, the idea of learning philosophy from a real expert over the internet, without having to actually be a formal student sounds pretty cool. If you’re interested, he’s got the information here. If I had more time, I’d probably do it myself.

About Ed Brayton

After spending several years touring the country as a stand up comedian, Ed Brayton tired of explaining his jokes to small groups of dazed illiterates and turned to writing as the most common outlet for the voices in his head. He has appeared on the Rachel Maddow Show and the Thom Hartmann Show, and is almost certain that he is the only person ever to make fun of Chuck Norris on C-SPAN.

I’m just finishing up my second Master’s Degree this summer. I’ll probably need a break from formalized learning afterward, though.

    Maybe next spring.
