Keyes: Gay Rights Lead to Bestiality

Alan Keys went on Gordon Klingenschmitt’s show and delivered his usual screed that the only rights we have are the ones God explicitly says we have in the Bible and added the usual “gay rights leads to bestiality.” It’s a little disturbing that anti-gay bigots always jump right to bestiality. One wonders if perhaps there’s some projection going on here.

  • Indeed, the laddie doth protest far too much.

The religious rightwing: where men are men and the sheep are really nervous.

  • Oh, my, this is just TERRIBLE.

Whodathunk that poor Alan Keyes would get himself so worked up over teh BRM* that he’d pull a “Horsley**”? (for the curious: That is what he meant, isn’t it?

** Like “Whack-A-Mole”, only you gotta replace the “Wh” with an “F” and the “o” with a “u”.

Throughout history, homosexual people did not have equal rights, and yet there was bestiality occurring. Ergo, it is heterosexual rights that lead to bestiality. The data are clear: only by removing all heterosexual rights can we prevent bestiality.

Oh, and we should note that polygamy is only allowed where marriage equality is not.

And the vast majority of places where child rape has occurred do not recognize equal rights for LGBTQ.

Seriously, I am deeply concerned about the people who cannot distinguish between consenting-adults and not-consenting-adults.

When obvious latent homsexuals talk about bestiality, I believe they are trying to talk themselves out of something.

  • I’ve been struggling for years trying to understand the level of fear that people like Keyes and Lively have for Teh Gay. Most of us reserve that kind of fear for finding ourselves between a mother bear and her cub, or a pending IRS audit.

  • I’m starting to think this whole “gay rights will lead to bestiality” theory is wishful thinking by these nut jobs.

  • So long as the government assigns me a gay dog husband with shiny eyes and a silky coat.

Wait, what? Gordo has a radio show? Someone pays him to spew hate?

It’s a completely logical step to go from “I’m gay” to “That’s a hot sheep.” WHY DON’T YOU PEOPLE GET THAT?

  • It’s a little disturbing that anti-gay bigots always jump right to bestiality. One wonders if perhaps there’s some projection going on here.

That’s exactly what I think when they make that leap. They treat women like livestock instead of people, so it doesn’t feel like such a big leap that they’d lose their ability to distinguish between the two.

The big reason I get for why bestiality is considered unhealthy is because it’s a sign that a person can’t form a relationship with a sapient partner and instead needs to impose on another creature. It’s similar to animal cruelty: Someone who is cruel to animals is likely to end up being cruel to humans. It seems likely to me that someone who engages in bestiality will move onto raping humans.

From where I stand, the whole sexual revolution is about getting beyond that mentality. Sex is a cooperative social activity for the enjoyment of everyone involved, hence the importance of consent. It’s about relationships and mutual respect, not biology.

Me, I went straight to bestiality without the gay sex first.

Crap. Did I just say that out loud?

So what’s Psalm 23 all about then? A relaxing situation. Food and shelter. Oil and sex toys … and Jesus pimping sheep, making sure I shall not want. I guess I’ll have to re-read it.

  • If anything were going to “lead to bestiality”, you’d think it’d be the Furry community.

  • Ichthyic

It’s just the standard slippery slope fallacy those who cannot think logically inevitably use to try and terrorize people into agreeing with them.

nothing new, though still as galling as ever.

  • Ichthyic

Crap. Did I just say that out loud?

Frankly, other than the issue of consent, there isn’t much of a problem with it that I can find anyway.

  • Consent is the usual reason given (other than just “ew ickey”) but having spent my life with many types of animals I can assure you they are very capable of letting you know when they don’t like what you’re doing.
