The KKK has received a permit to hold a rally at the site of the battle of Gettysburg, which is now controlled by the National Park Service. The NPS said in a statement, “The National Park Service mission in preserving and protecting the historic resources at Gettysburg includes making them available to all Americans, even those whose views are contrary to the majority of the American public.” Absolutely right. But I’m a bit disappointed to see that the commenters at Raw Story aren’t any brighter than those at the Worldnetdaily.
Um what about the fact that their views as an organized group are contrary to the American public. To be supported by the rights they feel they deserve then their duty is to uphold the rights of other Americans. If there point is to remove the rights of non white and homosexual citizens then why should their rights be upheld. If they want to be there than they can be there as a citizen not as a antagonist.
This is no different than allowing a Hitler rally at the WWII memorial.
And that would be allowed too.
Confederates were not and are not Americans, so how does the Constitution apply to them?
False on all counts. There are also a whole lot of comments about how all the Republicans will be there. That’s just obnoxious well-poisoning, not a serious argument.
