Klingenschmitt Trying to Hide Past Statements

Now that our old friend Gordon Klingenschmitt is running for office in Colorado, he’s apparently trying to get videos removed from Youtube that show him saying idiotic, dishonest things. Right Wing Watch, which puts up those videos, reports on several copyright claims he’s filed to get videos removed over the last week:

In the last few days, three of our Klingenschmitt videos have been removed and anyone who tries to watch them simply sees a message saying “This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by GJK, Inc.”…

We’ve run into this issue with “Dr. Chaps” a few times before, like when we posted a video of him saying that Newt Gingrich was under the influence of a demonic voice when he said that Republicans would have to face up to the fact that the public attitude toward gay marriage was changing. When we posted that video, “Dr. Chaps” issued a press release claiming defamation and copyright violations and had our video removed from YouTube…

We filed a counter-claim with YouTube asserting that our video was protected by Fair Use and eventually the video was restored. We have done the same with the three videos that Klingenschmitt has currently had removed and we expect the same result.

The only thing “Dr. Chaps” is doing by having these videos removed is calling attention to his efforts to cover up his well-documented record of making outrageous statements.

Yep. Keep it up, Gordy.

Gordo meet you new best friend, the Streisand Effect.

    The Internet never forgets.

Oh Fruity, you really, really screwed the pooch this time.

You’ve got to feel bad for the poor guy. He’s too immoderate for Colorado (hence, trying to delete his past), but too moderate for Texas.

He’s stuck half way between dick and asshole. He’s taint, and taint is no place to be.

And now everyone knows about it and will watch the videos the second they’re back. *slow clap* Well done, GK. Well done.

Right wingers really don’t “get” the Streisand effect, do they?

Unfortunately, it has resulted in YouTube (no doubt temporarily) terminating RWW’s account for having too many copyright complaints in one year. RWW has appealed but, in the meantime, no juicy videos from the wingnuts.

Barbara! Barbara! There’s a mister Klingenschmitt calling on you!

From John’s supplied site is this.

UPDATE: Klingenschmitt has now even issued a press release declaring victory over us:

David Takes Down Goliath — Anti-Jesus Group Right Wing Watch Terminated by YouTube After Chaplain Files Copyright Infringement Claims

WASHINGTON, Nov. 7, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ — The anti-Christian group Right Wing Watch (RWW) had their YouTube account terminated today after repeated violations of copyright infringement, theft, and allowing followers to issue death threats against a Christian chaplain.

Former Navy Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt, PhD, who is now a candidate for state representative in Colorado successfully persuaded YouTube to terminate the anti-Christian group’s account, after RWW repeatedly stole, copied, and re-published without permission as many as 90 videos created and copyrighted by Chaplain’s corporation, The Pray In Jesus Name Project.

RWW has been a thorn in the side of countless Christian ministries for years, quoting out of context ministers like James Dobson, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, and political leaders like Michelle Bachmann and Alan Keyes. Unless YouTube restores their account, years of defamatory RWW video archives against countless Christians have now been deleted, effectively silencing their hate-speech campaign.

“I reached out in good faith to RWW’s leadership at People for the American Way, but instead they published death threats against me,” said the Chaplain. “I asked them to stop their theft and piracy of my original content, but instead they blogged against me boasting they could steal without consequences.”

RWW even mocked the Chaplain here, claiming he didn’t know how the internet works, and daring him to file suit.

Instead, the chaplain politely notified YouTube about 6 of the 90 copyright infringement claims, which crossed their limit of 3 claims.

YouTube properly responded by terminating the RWW account and deleting all their videos, causing panic at RWW headquarters, who blamed others for their own arrogance and theft.

The Bible says pride comes before destruction. That’s a lesson for them, in how the internet works.

This could be a CAT5 Streisand Effect if he keeps the publicity up.

They never would have had their account terminated if they understood how Free Speech works. I speak freely. You agree.

It was about time that Good, Honest American Patriots like Gordon Klingenschmitt stood up and stopped their hateful hate-speech campaign against him and other Good, Honest American Patriots like him, abusing so-called “Fair Use” for nefarious purposes like commentary and criticism, silencing and oppressing him and those like him in the process.

Here are the factors in fair use on youtube

I haven’t seen the offending videos but I would find it hard to believe that they violated fair use.

  • Doug Little

Can’t wait for the retort when RRW’s account gets reinstated, it will be Schadenfreudelicious.

  • Lyle

This could be a CAT5 Streisand Effect if he keeps the publicity up.

CAT5? I think this is going to be the dreaded Epic Shitstorm Streisand Effect. RWW is a clear case of fair use. Not only that, but I think there’s some substance to the idea that Gordo made an abusive claim, which is a violation of the DMCA.

  • Doug Little

but I think there’s some substance to the idea that Gordo made an abusive claim, which is a violation of the DMCA

Ohhh yes, the Epic Shitstorm Streisand has just gained power by moving across some warmer schadenfreude.

Just another conservative demonstrating how to take personal responsibility for one’s actions. Remember, quoting a conservative directly is exactly the same as “attacking” them.

  • dingojack

Psst – I hear that “Fruity Gordo” Klingshitt helped Mr Bek kill several pre-pubescent boys and/or girls (after raping them) in the ’80’s.

    Pass it on.

The only thing that could make this better is if Gordo sues RWW he has on retainer one Larry “America’s Worst Lawyer” Klayman. Also, I can’t wait for the Christian persecution rant against Youtube when they reinstate RWW’s account.

  • Melvosh

That’s right, Gordo. Don’t argue against the evidence that you’re a bigoted theocrat, because you can’t. Instead, do everything you can to pretend people aren’t allowed to know you’re a bigoted theocrat. That’s the best way to make sure even more people know you’re a bigoted theocrat.

  • Doug Little

BTW Gordo likes to refer to himself as Mr Chaps. Sounds like a pedophile clown’s name to me.

  • Doug Little

    Sorry Dr. Chaps.

  • Doug Little

You want to talk about the Bryan Fischer award, I nominate Rick Wiles for this comment when talking to Gordo about the RWW incident on his radio station.

Wiles: What these communist groups are doing is that they are fomenting such vehement hate against Christians that they really are hoping that somebody will go off their rocker and kill one of them. That’s really what these people are trying to do.

  • Sastra

RWW has been a thorn in the side of countless Christian ministries for years, quoting out of context ministers like James Dobson, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, and political leaders like Michelle Bachmann and Alan Keyes.

I assume that this passage is trying to say that the ministers were quoted “out of context,” and wasn’t referring to “out of context ministers” being quoted — because that would make more sense.

“Out of context?” Are the Christians then arguing that they are much closer to the views of RRW than it seems? My guess is that you could take any one of those videos and publish them on a right wing Christian site with no complaints from the readers and nothing but praise for someone ‘telling it like it is.’
