California Psychics Love Freethought Blogs

On Sunday evening I received the following incredibly sincere email from Jennifer Davis of California Psychics. She clearly spent a lot of time exploring Freethought Blogs to determine that our audience would be very interested in being solicited as customers for their fraudulent services.

Your website is a great resource for those interested in psychics, clairvoyance, mediums and the like and we would greatly appreciate the opportunity for our site, to be a part of the listed resources.

Since 1995 California Psychics® has been a trusted name in online psychic readings. We have helped over 2 million people find the answers to their most pressing concerns, and we are dedicated to providing you with real answers to your very real concerns.

At California Psychics we take pride in our community of psychics. Each of our online psychics goes through a specialized interview process before they join our community, and that means that you can confidently enjoy a reading with a psychic advisor who has proven abilities and strengths.

We thank you for your consideration of providing your visitors this valuable resource.

Jennifer Davis

My predictable reply:

Yes, my website is indeed a great resource for those interested in psychics. Especially the part where I point out that psychics are con men who prey on the desperate and credulous and celebrate the recent arrests, convictions and prison sentences of those who commit such fraud. You’ve clearly read my site very closely.

P.S. If you were really psychic, you would have seen this response coming.

I love stupid PR people. But I wish I’d thought to ask them who gave them the idea of contacting me and said, “I’m sensing a name that starts with a T…”

Meh, its bulk email. Mismatch with recipient != incompetence. It just means it’s cheaper to spam than to do market research.

  • Trebuchet

Ken White at Popehat is very fond of writing about these spammers. Especially those pushing attorneys.

  • scottbelyea

Perhaps “con artists” might be better than “con men,” even ignoring the fact that you’re replying to “Jennifer.”

  • Mr Ed

Maybe they are real psychics but there psychic comprehension isn’t any better than their reading comprehension.

  • lldayo

Come on, Ed, let’s not be too hasty on the response email. They have helped over 2 million people since 1995 so that has to mean something. After all, the more believers means the better chance of it being true, right? There can’t be THAT many misled people in the world…

You should have asked them to put a link to on their web site.

Oh, I just woke up and that made me LOL. FtB as a resource for psychics…hee hee

As a public service, we have helped over 2 million people lighten their wallets. Think of the backaches avoided.

  • “We have helped over 2 million people find the answers to their most pressing concerns…”

That statement, if true, ought to scare the shit out of people.

  • timberwoof

If the Psychic Network are asking us to lighten their wallets every time we click on their stupid ads here, why refuse?

Is it dishonest to defraud a fraudster? The fraudster knows there are fraudsters in the world…

    Can you make us money?

    You’re hired.
