Wingnut on Wingnut Crime: Keyes vs Cheney

While Liz Cheney is taking heavy criticism for demeaning her sister Mary’s same-sex marriage and family, Alan Keyes has another problem with Dick Cheney’s perhaps even more evil daughter: She just isn’t anti-gay enough for his tastes. Imagine being so anti-gay that Liz Cheney isn’t anti-gay enough for you. After all, this is a man who disowned his own daughter for being gay.

About Ed Brayton

After spending several years touring the country as a stand up comedian, Ed Brayton tired of explaining his jokes to small groups of dazed illiterates and turned to writing as the most common outlet for the voices in his head. He has appeared on the Rachel Maddow Show and the Thom Hartmann Show, and is almost certain that he is the only person ever to make fun of Chuck Norris on C-SPAN.

After all, this is a man who disowned his own daughter for being gay.

This would account for some Keyes animosity towards the former Vice-President for not disowning his lesbian daughter Mary.

    Love this first sentence:

This post takes it for granted that the reader is aware of my carefully reasoned opposition to so-called “gay marriage.

Delusions of grandeur, anyone? Not to mention that he actually describes one of his ravings as “carefully reasoned,” which almost caused a spit take when I read it.

I’m not sure about the word “disowned.” Last I heard – and it’s been quite a while – Maya said that she was still in regular contact with her father, that he had just refused to support her (mostly college tuition).
