Dobson: Nazi America Will Imprison Pastors

James Dobson went on Janet Mefferd’s radio show to talk about Obamacare and declared that America is headed toward becoming Nazi Germany because an anonymous friend of his thinks he’s going to be put in prison for his faith. Because that’s totally rational. Help help, we’re being repressed! Come and see the violence inherent in the system!

I got a feeling that these guys are all REALLY into bondage and what Ed reports is the result of their wet dreams.

  • a_ray_in_dilbert_space

Wow, Ed, the way you describe it is so real. I can just picture the spittle flying from his mouth!

  • StevoR : Free West Papua, free Tibet, let the Chagossians return!

    @ ^ a_ray_in_dilbert_space :I”d rather not.

“Go back to 1939 when the German Lutheran church turned a blind eye to what Hitler was doing … It’s not quite as bad as it was then but we see where the train is moving, we see where it’s going.

Not quite as bad? I’ll take Crazed Hyperbole for $1,000, Alex!

  • StevoR : Free West Papua, free Tibet, let the Chagossians return!

    But yeah. Me too there.

  • a_ray_in_dilbert_space

StevoR, but you know it’s there.

I suspect you aren’t too far wrong. Tales of martyrdom figure pretty prominently in both Catholic and Protestant lore. Mel Gibson’s “Passion of the Christ,” isn’t the only snuff film lurking in “The Lives of the Saints”. And there is some pretty sick shit in the sermons that inspired the Great Awakening and its sequel.

You have to remember that these guys really believe their God is a sadistic bastard who punishes you not just for your own sins but for those of your neighbors and parents as well. And in the Protestant tradition, you have the added psychological burden of predestination where you never know if you’re damned ’til you feel the hellfire.

    Mmmmmmmm hellfire!

    Toasty warmmmmm!

Since he does not specify the crime, and given the known proclivities of these people visible to all in the public record, do you think this anonymous pastor friend of Dobson’s will be arrested and flung into prison for:

    A) fearlessly proclaiming the Gospel

    B) fondling an eight-year-old member of the youth group out behind the swing sets

    C) gross financial improprieties involving whiskey, methamphetamine, and male prostitutes

Hey, all I am doing is asking the question…

  • StevoR : Free West Papua, free Tibet, let the Chagossians return!

    @^ skinnercitycyclist : Prolly B or C.

    Since ya asked.

  • Wylann

Are we allowed to waterboard them too?

If I didn’t have a conscience, I’d almost wish for some of these guys’ persecution fantasies to come true.

The difference is that when the Monty Python character yelped, “Help help, I’m being repressed! Come see the violence inherent in the system!” he was actually being repressed by a system that was basically violent.

So, in short, Monty Python’s crazy character makes more sense and is more rational than James Dobson.
