Robertson Thinks Horror Movies Cause Demonic Possession

And now, your moment of irony. Pat Robertson, who is resembling more and more the Crypt Keeper as he ages, says that watching horror movies can cause you to be possessed by demons. Watching the 700 Club, on the other hand, can cause you to be possessed by stupidity.

Says a lot about their super duper all powerful all singing all dancing delusion does it not?

Especially when the opposition can do their thing in some B rated flick…and have been since before.Bela Lagosi

Hammer Film Productions have been getting away with it since 1934!

This dimwit has never left the kindergarten phase seemingly!

No doubt someone still needs a night light for beddy byes then?

  • Alverant

I’ve watched the Rocky Horror Picture Show every Halloween. Will I be possessed by the demon of alternate lifestyles?

Is there anything in the 21st century that Robertson doesn’t think causes demonic possession?

    #3 wins the thread.

In my experience, demonic possession causes horror movies. It may also explain Pat Robertson.

  • matty1

Let’s be honest when Pat talks about demonic evil he is clearly speaking from personal experience.

At least Pat doesn’t have to worry about zombies.

    They only eat brains.

  • bobcarroll

Kevin, that’s priceless. I can visualize a zombie’s reaction to ingesting Pat’s. The horror!

So there was no demonic possession before horror movies? I guess that pretty well refutes everything else Robertson ever said about demons and possession — including that story about Haitians making a pact with the Devil way back before movies were invented.

Also, if you forget to leave a saucer of milk out for the little people, they will break your teacups when your back is turned. The world of spirits is unfathomable except by the old and wise, and filled with peril for those who don’t abide by the warnings.*

    * Exempli gratia, don’t cross your eyes; they’ll get stuck like that.

  • cheesynougats

Has anyone heard of a double-X rated movie besides Robertson? If he meant a XXX movie, then you’re just possessed by the old-school demons of pornography. Otherwise, I have no clue what he’s talking about.*

    * Even if he’s talking about the demons of pornography, I’m still not sure what he’s talking about. I do at least have a general idea, though.

  • busterggi

alverent @2 too late, if you watch it every year you’re already living an alternative life style.

…of the living. They would just pass Pat by as one of their own.

Dingo, did you drop an “r” or is this whole thread headed south?

My grandmother is still among us, in spite of my being 54 years old, and I love her very much. She’s a great person, somebody who I’ve long attempted to emulate and still am found wanting to a spectacular degree.

She was never very political and never interested in religion beyond the social benefits of her very liberal church. We had to put her in a retirement home several months ago. Unfortunately, that unexpectedly left her open to people attempting to proselytize her.

I went over to visit her and when she saw me she very upset, she was shaking with fear. I’d never seen her like this, she was always a cool calm person. She can no longer change the channel on the TV where somebody’d put the 700 Club on and left, that’s a show she never watched. I know who did it, a Sarah Palin / James Dobson type of Christian. In fact my grandmother never consumed religious-themed media.

From what she told me Pat Robertson was scaring his audience into believing the Muslim hordes invading our country where stealing everybody’s social security. I put a parental lock on all the channels broadcasting religious shows, and the so-called ABC Family channel since that was the channel broadcasting the 700 Club.

So let’s remember, as evil as Pat Robertson is, he has millions of evil fans as well. And they have no compunctions about causing others to suffer as they promote their tribe’s goals.

  • leonardschneider

Yeah, it’s time to get a portable screen and projector, set up outside Robertson’s headquarters, and show this one. It’s what turned me to the Dark Side. (Either that, or Manos, the Hands of Fate.)

    D. C. Sessions – ‘rlager’? Isn’t that what Scooby-Doo drinks?

I’m tired of this shit. Robertson keeps running his mouth to distract us all. Isn’t it about time for us to see if HE weighs more than a duck?
