Lively: Support Russian Invasion Because He’s a Bigot

Scott Lively continues to put his massive crush on Vladimir Putin on display with a post on his website telling his fellow conservatives that they should be supporting Putin’s invasion of the Ukraine because he’s standing up to both the “homosexualist agenda” and the “New World Order.”

I personally think Obama’s motives and timing in the Ukrainian coup (and subsequent push for war) are influenced at least in part by Putin’s unequivocal stand against homosexual perversion…

When the US and EU sponsored Ukraine coup occurred, following the Ukrainian government’s refusal to move closer to the EU, I pointed out that a significant factor for the Ukrainians was probably the LGBT agenda of the EU vs the pro-family agenda of the Russian Federation.

I think today’s story provides a slight boost to my hypothesis.

I caution US conservatives not to fall into line with Obama against the Russians. There is far more to this crisis than the war-propaganda and spin of the western media (including some conservative outlets) would have us believe. I for one will not take sides with the New World Order crowd against the only world power that is standing up to the LGBT agenda and embracing Biblical values on family issues. At least not over a geo-political crisis in which (IMHO) the Russians are clearly in the right.

You can almost picture Lively and Putin in a bathhouse giving each other a rubdown, can’t you? Go ahead, picture it. You know you want to. I bet Lively does.

Huh. Funny, but Russia seems to have a greater abortion rate than the US. About double, actually. Same number of abortions (approximately) per year with half the population. Simple math.

And universal health care, funded via compulsory health insurance.

The power of the Evil Homosexual Agenda never ceases to amaze me. They were able to take a relatively intolerant culture like Ukraine and get the people to do their bidding.

@1. Kevin Kehres : Also the old Russian Soviet empire used to be militantly atheist too – and although a lot have returned to the Russian Orthodox church, I expect the percentage of atheists there would still be a lot, lot higher than in the US, da?

Remember when hating the Russkies were the one thing on which Democrats and Republifucks could agree? Now, evidently, there’s no bridge too far for the Reds to cross.

Meanwhile, Lively’s particular branch of Christianity is practically nonexistant in Russia. The county is about 41% Russian Orthodox and only 4.1% “Unaffiliated Christian”, which I assume would include all Protestant sects. So all non-Orthodox Christians together are 1/10 of the number of Russian Orthodox, 2/3 the number of Muslims (6.5%), and 1/3 the number of atheists (13%).

Since Russia has shown that it is perfectly willing to silence inconvenient minorities, it wouldn’t take much for the Duma to pass laws to target Lively and his co-religionists.

    Lets Occam’s Razor this.

Is it more likely that Obama support Ukraine because:

    A) Putin opposes homosexuality

    or

    B) Putin unilaterally invaded a sovereign country.

    Holy fucking stupid.

  • dugglebogey

And Scott? When you try so hard to find the homosexual agenda in every single action someone takes? Yeah, that means you’re gay. You need to start dealing with it yourself and stop inflicting all this latent homosexuality on everyone else.

  • kraut

“Putin unilaterally invaded a sovereign country.

    Holy fucking stupid.”

Thanks for pointing out your stupidity.

When exactly did Putin invade any sovereign country? I must have been totally living under a rock.

The simple fact: Ukrainian Nazis with help from supporting Oligarchs and some US help made a coup d’etat, resulting in a government that was not recognized by the inhabitants of Crimea, who then with help? from Russia showed their displeasure in a referendum that was as legal or illegal as the coup d’etat.

    Apparently you have.

New World Order? Really? Proof positive some conservatives are stuck in the 80’s.

It’s pretty clear that Putin’s anti-gay campaign was there to provide a distraction from the fact that life in Russia… is not so good. Seeing the praise he gets from American anti-gay idiots is somewhat amusing, as they tend to worship American nationalism and Russian media is as anti-American as it is anti-gay (if not more so).

@5 – you’re exactly right. Often times, many of the non-Orthodox/Catholic denominations are referred to as “cults;” granted, many of them are pretty cultish and most people don’t trust them (again, often for good reason).

Can we please stop using homosexuality as an insult?
