Losing Candidates Teach How to Win Elections

Rick Santorum lost his reelection bid for his Senate seat in Pennsylvania and then lost the 2012 Republican presidential primary. Pat Robertson ran for president once and finished a distant also-ran. But that doesn’t stop the two of them from holding a conversation where they tell Republicans how to win elections. In related news, the Detroit Lions will be giving a seminar on how to win the Super Bowl.

    Who needs their advice when Romney, Palin, the Newtster, etc are already teaching the same thing?

  • LightningRose

    Repuglican candidates just aren’t conservative enough. Everyone knows this already.

    Hey now. No hating on the Lions!

    Crimson Clupeidae @ # 3 – Our esteemed host may not be alluding to the football team, but to the charitable organization of (mostly) old white guys who collect money and glasses for poor people with vision problems.

    None of their chapters around the nation has yet to make it to regional playoffs, last I heard.

    And another Robertson has been heard from. Phil “Duck Dynasty” Robertson says, “You want to turn the Republican party around, get godly,”

  • dingojack

    Well there’s nothing wrong in the premise. Losing candidates can teach a party how to win elections, in the same way as plane crashes can improve flight safety.

    Oh wait, Frothymix talking to Patty Robinson, I see what you mean….

    Kind of like getting a lecture on ethics from Newt Gingrich.

    As f they think the problem is that people like me are narcissists, maybe they should stop stroking my ego by telling me I have the power to destroy the entire fabric of society and foil the designs of an omnipotent deity. It’s a real ego trip.

    I hear that tomorrow Napoleon is going to stop round and explain how to successfully invade Russia.

    Santorum argued that working families are abandoning the Democratic Party over “the destruction of the culture that the left is doing and the destruction of the family.”

    And all those polls showing that a majority of Americans approve of gay marriage (you know that’s what he’s talking about) instead of thinking it destroys the culture or the family are wrong? And your evidence for that is? (A rhetorical question … we all know wingnuts like Santorum don’t need evidence.)

    @9 Kalli Procopio I hear he’s on a double bill with Captain Edward Smith of the RMS Titanic who will discuss safe navigation of the North Atlantic.

    @4 Pierce

    As the President of the Coal Valley Lions Club, I can say that our team is likely to make the 1-H District playoffs, I can’t speak for any of our Detroit clubs (there’s likely at least three in the city proper and more in the greater area). Yeah, Lions Clubs are aging, I’m the 3rd youngest person in my club (was the youngest until we got a young married couple to join).
