Limbaugh: Robin Williams Killed Himself Because He’s Liberal

Always eager to be as repulsive and ghoulish as possible, Rush Limbaugh’s immediate and completely evidence-free conclusion after Robin Williams committed suicide on Monday was that he did it because he was a leftist. Aww, what’s wrong, Rush? Is it that difficult keeping pace with Ann Coulter these days?

“What is the left’s world view in general?” Limbaugh asked his audience the day after Williams’ death was announced. “If you had to attach, not a philosophy, but an attitude to a leftist world view. It’s one of pessimism, and darkness, sadness. They’re never happy, are they?”

“They’re animated in large part by the false promises of America because the promises of America are not for everyone,” he continued, pointing to a Fox News report that suggested Williams had struggled with financial issues, and survivor’s guilt after the deaths of entertainers like Christopher Reeve, Andy Kaufman and John Belushi.

“Robin Williams felt guilty that he was still alive while his three friends had died young, and much earlier than he had,” the conservative talker explained. “He could never get over the guilt that they died and he didn’t.”

“Well, that is a constant measurement that is made by political leftists in judging the country.”

All the wrong people seem to be killing themselves.

“It’s one of pessimism, and darkness, sadness.”

Huh. I remember when conservatives used to accuse leftists of being utopian optimists.

Seriously, I don’t know whether Williams was really an atheist, but there have been rumors for a while. I’ve been expecting the Religious Right to blame his suicide on bleak, empty atheist world-view.

  • sh3baproject

what a dick. i can handle most of limbaugh’s shit, but this is just sick.

The conservative Christian hate-mail generator is just warming up; lots more to come.

    Total nonsense.

If you mean Limbaugh, he’s been dead for years.

Go fill your perscription, Rush, and then take it all.

  • vilstef

The only time Flush seems to be happy is when he has his elephantine foot on someone’s throat. Or when he’s saying someone isn’t happy because they aren’t a selfish, self-congratulating inhumane pig like him.

Which one? Or all of them, just to be sure.

    Speaking of stiffs …

“What is the left’s world view in general?”

All people are equal and should have equal opportunities for success and happiness in life, and that they should have the personal liberty to decide for themselves what is success and happiness and to work toward it.

What is the right’s world view?

Some people are better than others, so just shut up and get back to work, peasants.

Which one is more pessimistic, dark, and sad?

  • D. C. Sessions

Which one is more pessimistic, dark, and sad?

That depends. Are you a peasant?

  • Trebuchet

Actually, Williams was murdered by Obama to distract from the all those racist thugs in Missouri threatening innocent police officers by putting their hands up. It worked, too.

  • dingojack

Nah Robin Williams killed himself, obviously,, to distract attention from BENGHAZI and onto Limburg*.

… because the promises of America are not for everyone,

There you have it, folks. The core of the the right’s political position. All the rhetoric in the DoI, all the concepts (if not reality) behind the Constitution are for naught. “Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for me but not for thee.”

Look, every body part has its thing. Heads have hats. Feet have socks. Assholes have Rush Limbaugh.

I used to think that Limbaugh was a fart, then I realized he’s much more than that. He’s solid.

  • a_ray_in_dilbert_space

    And just because:

    It’s hot outside.

    How hot is it?

Hotter than Rush Limbaugh’s thighs after a brisk walk.

“They’re animated in large part by the false promises of America because the promises of America are not for everyone.”

Well, there’s a giveaway. I guess the “promises of American” are reserved for Rush and his cronies and followers. To hell with everyone else. Imagine the rest of us being disappointed with that sentiment.

Rush Limbaugh is nearly as obnoxious as Little Paul.

What’s the difference between Rush Limbaugh and the Hindenburg? One is a flaming Nazi gasbag the other is just a dirigible.

    * Thanks to Gary Trudeau for coming up with this one.

  • zbeeblebrox

Limbaugh and Coulter are self-parodying blowhards. I rarely succumb to the breathless “Rush/Ann said WHAT?” clickbait

I don’t know who Gary Trudeau is or if he really made up that joke, but I first heard it about 15 years ago from a regular customer at a bar I worked at. Although he used the word “blimp”. For obvious reasons.

Anyway, right after he told me that joke, he told me this one (which you also may appreciate):

What’s the difference between a lawyer and a carp? One is a bottom-feeding scum sucker and the other is just a fish :)

Garry Trudeau (note correct spelling) is the creator of Doonesbury, a well-known comic strip (currently on semi-hiatus) that takes strongly liberal positions. Trudeau is very distantly related to the former Prime Minister of Canada, Pierre Elliot Trudeau. I don’t know if Trudeau originated the Hindenberg joke, but he is strongly associated with it.

Rushbo is a piece of shit, a junkie, a serial adulterer and, by some accounts, a child rapist. That he is still alive is all the proof I need that there is no fucking GOD.

I think Doonesbury is only “strongly liberal” when looked at through the perspective American conservatives. I find Doonesbury to be relatively moderate, left-leaning sure.

  • Alverant

#25 Do you know when Doonesbury will return (except for Sundays)? Reading strips from back when I wasn’t even in grade school is entertaining and offers an interesting retrospective on the long-term results of those decisions, but I’d like to see new strips again.

As for it’s perspective, I think it does what all good comedians do. It looks at society and laughs at its double standards. Naturally that makes it left-leaning. There were some articles on altnet and rawstory about why there’s no right wing version of Robin Williams and the lack of right wing comedians in general. Basically comedians laugh with the audience and right wingers laugh at the audience.

  • Alverant

Also news is saying Williams was in the early stages of Parkinsons disease. But considering how Limpy made fun of Michael J Fox having the disease I don’t expect this to change anything.
