Benham Brothers Still Just Like ISIS Victims

The Benham brothers, the spectacularly dumb sons of far-right theocrat Flip Benham, are again comparing themselves to the victims of terrorist violence in the Middle East because they had their reality show about flipping house canceled due to their outrageous bigotry. At a Family Research Council event, they said:

“This is a spiritual battle,” Jason said. “From the outset, there was a war in Heaven and now it’s manifesting itself here on this earth” in the form of attacks on Christians like them.

“We see the struggle between good and evil, light and darkness, truth and lies,” David said, pointing to ISIS as he then declared that “what’s happening with swords over in the Middle East is happening with silence over here in America.”

“The exact same agenda in the form of silence,” he said. “That’s their weapon and Jason and I were targeted and it’s a very well orchestrated, well-oiled machine that comes after us.”

Perkins completely agreed, saying that “in the Middle East they use the sword, and here they use silence but in both ways the voice of Christians are lost.”

And that paper cut they got last week was just like the killing fields of Pol Pot too.

Perhaps they should consider the fact that they are a couple of douchbag bigots as the cause of all their problems. That would help clear up the problem.

  • Alverant

Someone needs to tell them ISIS is homophobic too. They have more in common with ISIS than not.

  • John Pieret

We see the struggle between good and evil, light and darkness, truth and lies

So do we. We just wish you’d turn away from the dark side and stop telling lies.

  • roggg

They had their show cancelled so they’re just like ISIS victims? What about me then? I didn’t even GET a show. That’s pretty much a genocide level atrocity if you ask me.

  • erichoug

These guys are just Hilarious. I mean it’s HGTV for gods sake. I doubt you would find a network that is more Pro-LGBTQ on Cable. What did they think was going to happen. If they were trying to land a show on BET and a video surfaced of them in white robes in front of a burning cross, what would they expect.

I am almost to the point where I use this sort of thing as a litmus test when I meet new people.

“So, have you been keeping up with the whole Benham Brothers thing?”

“Oh my yes, those poor boys being attacked by demonic forces of the gay, it’s just awful.”

“Oh, so you’re a terrible person with a disconnect from reality. Goodbye.”

I love it. Two guys give a televised interview, available perpetually on U-tube, complaining that they are being silenced and their voices lost.

What happened to my America? It’s getting to the point where people can’t even stand up in public and espouse their idiotic, ignorant, damn fool opinions without experiencing some kind of consequence!

  • dhall

Funny, they don’t look as if they’ve been beheaded. They sound like brainless though.

“in the Middle East they use the sword, and here they use silence but in both ways the voice of Christians are lost.”

I attack with my +5 acoustic baffle.

  • Onamission5

But if a single cable network decides not to give them the time of day because that cable network would rather not be seen as siding against a general sense of decency, then where else on earth will they be allowed to speak? Come on you guys, getting a paid talk circuit to endlessly complain on multiple forms of media about how silenced you are because you got one toy taken away from you is just like being poverty stricken, abused, and violently oppressed. Can’t you see how entitled they are to get paid to speak on every form of media they feel they deserve, regardless of how harmful their behavior? Censorship! Oppression! Tolerate my intolerance!

  • dugglebogey

The “well oiled machine” works like this:

    These guys suck!

    Oh, you’re right. Show cancelled.

    Machine off.

  • howardhershey

Their First Amendment rights were not violated. That Amendment only affects the authority of governments to prevent or retaliate against such speech. It doesn’t require a private contractor to continue to hire you if you are bad for their business. There are limited exceptions: a business, in theory if not in practice, supposedly cannot retaliate if you advocate for unionization or for whistle-blowing. Neither unionization nor whistle-blowing is the case here that I can see. And I doubt that the brothers are employees of HGTV in any case.

  • grumpyoldfart

They are going to talk like this for the rest of their lives.

    So will their children.

    And their grandchildren.

  • Pierce R. Butler

Whaddya mean they didn’t have their rights violated?

They didn’t get any tax breaks, no special junk bonds, and not even a freeway off-ramp and expanded highway to their front doors!!1!

  • theguy

So again Shitkins and the Shitham bros “conveniently” fail to mention their effort to censor, actually censor, pro-gay speech in Russia and Uganda and elsewhere, while complaining that they’re being silenced themselves.

I wonder if they’re so stupid that they wouldn’t recognize the double standard if it was pointed out to them.

    @Johnny Vector #9:

Your Internet is on its way, sir. Thanks for the LOL.

  • bushrat

What kind of world do we live in when the self important children of rich assholes can’t espouse incredibly idiotic beliefs in front of the nation without consequences. I mean where’s their father to throw money at this to cover up his kids disastrous lives or at least shift the blame onto the poor or liberals or something.

  • bushrat

Really, it’s more like Benghazi though, if you think of the media as the terrorists, the viewers as the protestors and the Benhams TV careers as the American diplomats.

  • lorn

Funny, I’ve had to suffer through this video a couple of times already and I still can’t find the part where someone cuts their heads off. Perhaps you posted the wrong video. Or maybe I’m missing something. Would someone please tell me the time stamp of when the cutting starts.

  • Dan Robinson

Wait a minnit, there’s been a war in heaven from the beginning? What sort of heaven has wars?

  • dingojack

Johnny Vector – Who knew they are actually on our side?

    Dingo

  • busterggi

You’d think the sons of the man who played Geraldine would be more accepting.
